The song, with the same title, is performed by the White Stripes.  All of the lyrics and one of the melodies come from Citizen Kane, which makes it a reimagining of the film as a song. I thought it would be interesting to use this technique of reappropriation to translate the song back into images. All of the footage comes from the original film, but my editing stays away from the long take. I tried to see if the shots with deep focus could still be effective without seeing them for an extended period of time.
